Who are we ?
Unity Aikido Assoc. Inc, a non-profit Aikido school, has established a permanent dojo/training hall at 148 Hopkins St. Moonah in Hobart, Tasmania. We are very grateful for this wonderful opportunity for Unity Aikido Assoc. Inc. In this lovely big space, which has a large hall [pic. above on the first Tuesday class '07] and a smaller carpeted hall which we can rent out, plus office space, kitchen, ablutions area and caretaker's bedsit/flat, we are expanding to offer much more of the benefits of Aikido Sport, Art and Defence to the community from kids, teens to adults; fit and unfit, young under 35 & mature age.

Help with running the New Dojyo & join in the fun!

The new dojyo is owned by the members of Unity Aikido Association Inc. through their incorporated association. We have moved in and re decorated and just had the opening ceremony. There is still lots to do in the dojyo for as we can afford it we will paint more walls etc. and there is the enjoyment of gardening, the necessity of cleaning daily and weekly. Help is welcome and needed as we all work voluntarily and there is much to do keeping the dojyo running well. There are classes and courses for members and we intend to expand as much as we can. All ideas for improving things, extending our Aikido work, are welcome.

Classes with visiting Master & Official Opening-two slide-shows up-more soon!
The OFFICIAL Opening was 8th March 2008 and we were honoured to have VIPs come from Japan and interstate and local associations and local government.
Sensei Futami,7th Dan Aikido & Vice-Chairman of the Japan Aikido Assoc. was our honoured guest and we held special classes with him for members on the opening weekend.
We showed our guests and Aikido families and friends what we do best with demonstrations by kids, teens & adults. And we shared some delicious food after the opening. Thank-you to all who helped with the preparations, those who demonstrated, and those who brought the food and all those who came. It was a wonderful event and we look forward to the Unity Aikido community growing in leaps and bounds.

How we bought the building and became an incorporated association.
We have formed Unity Aikido Association Inc. to be the owner of the property and within this are forming a unit trust called Unity Trust. The inaugural meeting of members of Unity Aikido Assoc. Inc. voted in the office bearers of the management committee on the 18th of August at 10.45am at the former Dojyo in Liverpool St. Hobart.
We have bought & financed the purchase of the building through students and friends of Aikido investing in our Unity Trust. See below for details. Units in Unity Trust are still available & every Unit purchased by our friends & supporters will help us by lowering our repayments to the bank. Unit holders will become part owners.

MANY THANKS to our supporters

We thank God for all our supporter/investors participation. Some have put their units in their Samurai children's names to help them financially in the future. Some have done it from their heartfelt desire to help this beautiful Teaching. We particularly thank those who have donated. God Bless you all! Your efforts and generosity have made it all possible.
